German Department
What makes CBS Dungarvans German department so special?
-
CBS Dungarvan has a partnership with the SBSZ Gymnasium in Hildburghausen. Since 2024, students from each school go to Germany and come to Ireland for a cultural and language exchange.
-
As part of the Irish Film Festival in Ireland, German films are shown in Waterford’s Garter Lane Theatre. You can find the German department and its junior cycle students at this festival each year. It also coincides with Winterval, a Christmas festival that mimics German Christmas Markets.
-
Since 2024, CBS Dungarvan has welcomed language assistants each year. These assistants are usually German students in German universities in Ireland to improve their English. Students in CBS benefit massively from them by learning language, culture and more from a genuine German young person.
